26th Annual Cosmic Creek Recap

This year's Cosmic Creek was nothing short of stellar. With pumping swell and glassy conditions for most of the contest, it was an insanely entertaining contest to both watch and compete in. Divisions from every age bracket, from groms to pros, all had an opportunity to put some vintage boards to the test: whether they were in the 70's single fin heats or the 80's twinfin heats.

Beyond just the surf, it was a special opportunity to watch live surfboard shaping going down in the Vissla trailer right on the beach, as well as a killer live set by local band bloom. With both the trailer and band being powered by a Rivian truck, it reduced our footprint on the beach and made for a pretty rad feature.

Saturday's festivities wrapped up on the hillside with ripping performances by both The Soul Beacons and Grady Strange, two talented groups that rounded out the first day of the fest with a bang.

Sunday saw our pros and creators divisions enter the water along with the semis and finals happen for the last day of the contest. Vintage board selections became the name of the game and we were lucky enough to have the swell build and stay throughout the rest of the heats. On the beach, folks had a chance to watch Sisstr teamrider Ryder Biolos custom paint a handshaped board by Donald Brink, and get some posters signed by some legendary pros that were there.
