Cosmic Lobos

Vissla is honored to announce the next stop of the Cosmic Series, the first-ever Cosmic Lobos surf festival, held on November 12th, 2016 at the iconic left point break at Punta de Lobos, Chile.

The Cosmic Series is a retro-style surf experience that pays homage to an earlier era in surfing. It is a journey back to the alternative, more experimental time of the 1970’s, when surfboards ruled the shops, when shapers were gurus, and surfing had a mystical soul.

Vissla could not be more stoked to bring the Cosmic experience to Chile. The event will feature three divisions for local surfers of all ages, from groms (“Wax Snatchers”), to legends (“Crystal Voyagers”), plus a Creators & Innovators division for local shapers to ride their hand made crafts, and a Pro division with cash prizes.

As part of the unique Cosmic format, all competitors will meet with the Beach Marshal at the waters edge prior to their heat to draw cards for priority on board selection among the original single and twin fin models from the 1970’s and 80’s. It truly comes down to the luck of the draw as to which board you will ride in your heat.

Open to the public and all ages; prizes for all finalists.
