#CreativeSpace Winner | Simply Recycled Furniture

Checking in with last week's #CreativeSpace contest winner, @simplyrecycledfurniture.

Hey Luke, can you tell us a bit about what you do?

Simply Recycled Furniture is my business I created with my Beautiful wife Claire where we make Custom handmade furniture and home wares from locally Sourced Recycled Timber for individuals and businesses. We are located in Miami on the Gold Coast (about 300 Metres from the Beach) and make pieces for people all around Australia.

I have always been creating bits and pieces and playing with different materials but I have been working full time now for about a year.

Tell us a bit about your creative space and what it means to you.

My creative space has given me the opportunity to do what I love and be with my family while I do it, my 2 year old Daughter Lily is here everyday and has her own little creative space in my workshop. My Creative Space has also given me the opportunity to create the ultimate man cave i have a giant projector screen so i can watch the Footy and the ASP while i work and it is close to the beach so i can sneak down for a few cheeky waves in between projects.

What is your favorite part of your creative space?

My Favourite part of my creative space would have to be the projector I think it is my mates favourite too as there is usually a big crew here on the weekends to watch the Footy.

Do you surf? If so, where do you usually go?

Yeh I have been surfing since i was a Grom. I grew up on the Gold Coast so it is hard not to when we have such legendary breaks. I usually surf out the front of Miami down the road from My shed or burliegh, Straddie, Dbah, Snapper Depends where the swell is. I lived in Melbourne for a few years and Bells and jan juc would be a regular weekend drive so it is good to live and work so close to the Beach.

Any last words?

A wise person will create more opportunities than they find. So don't let small minds convince you that your dreams are too big.
